Job Description

A Senior Technical Sales Manager’s prime role is to obtain new business, create opportunities and increase revenue. Essential for this position are strong closing skills as well as an adventurous attitude that allows them self-starting personality with high levels of organization ability which will allow you to deal confidentially at all levels from clients such as those who may be industry leaders or just anyone who is looking into purchasing products our company has to offer.

The ideal candidate should not only have knowledge in their field but also possesses excellent communication abilities, sensitive to evolving needs within the industries, and be able to identify & grasp market opportunities.

He/she should also have a strong desire to drive the business with a “can do” attitude and have a proven track record of sales closure in the corporate sales environment.

The successful candidate is required to work closely to support cross-functional departments in quality, logistic, or purchase issues for the existing business, and, at the same time nurture new business/projects development with the support of the engineering department.

The Senior Technical Sales Manager is expected to share his expertise and experiences in the automotive industry, providing more insights to the company in the effort to drive innovation through the development of new solutions and/or materials relevant to the focus market.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or higher
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Automotive Sales with OEM or Tier 1 companies
  • Proven, successful and sustained sales track record in selling Automotive Products or Filters or ventilation membranes related to any of following Applications: Air Intake, HVAC, Cabin Air, Pressure Compensation, ECU’s, ADAS, Batteries, Lighting, ABS, Injectors, Fuel Tank
  • Understanding of the business operations and key business issues with proven experience in identifying solutions to reach assigned goals and customer’s expectations
  • Automotive qualification techniques and processes.
  • Effective and successful negotiation skills.
  • Presentation and communication skills.
  • Effective planning & organizing skills
  • Experience in delivering successful projects on time
  • Ability to work on multitasks and to manage stress and pressure        
  • Motivated and optimistic towards assigned budget and business plan targets
  • Enjoys managing high-level commercial relationships 
  • Ability to collect market data related to Customers, Competitors and, Products
  • Management of quotation processes, including financial analysis and program costing
  • Able to dedicate time for Market specific Exhibitions
  • Scheduling and carrying out regular customer visits
  • Excellent verbal and written English
  • Computer skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of Lotus Notes would be an added advantage

Work Location:

GVS Malaysia office is located in Puchong Selangor. This is a full-time position
based in Puchong, Selangor. Traveling to automotive customers at all locations in
Malaysia, Indonesia as well as other Southeast Asia Region is expected to be up to
30% to 50% of the time.

Job Description:

A Sales Manager’s key role is to obtain new business, create opportunities and increase revenue through developing the distribution network nationwide of an innovative range of RPPE i.e., Elipse® Mask.

Essential for this position is a good understanding of the local regulatory landscape for the RPPE, strong closing skills as well as an adventurous attitude that allows them self-starting personality with high levels of organizational ability to drive the business. The Sales Manager is also expected to approach the key industries’ users with a sound understanding of their needs from the technical and legal perspective to create demand at the distribution level, manage contracts among the distributors, as well as oversee an organized direct supply where possible.

The ideal candidate should not only have knowledge in their field but also possesses excellent communication abilities, sensitive to evolving needs within the industries and legal landscape for the need of RPPE, and be able to identify & grasp market opportunities.

He/she should also have a strong desire to drive the business with a “can do” attitude and have a proven track record in sales.

The successful candidate is required to work closely to support cross-functional departments in quality, logistic, or purchase issues for the existing business, and, at the same time nurture new business/projects development with the support of the global Health & Safety division.

 

The Sales Manager roles include

  • Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals
  • Organize approval of new products
  • Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly
  • Reviews market analysis to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates
  • Travel Frequencies ~ 65% for trade shows and to customer locations
  • Represents company at trade association meetings and shows to promote a product;
  • Delivers sales presentations to clients;
  • Develops and implements a sales and marketing strategy
  • Analyses and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements;
  • Prepares monthly sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion
  • Responsible for sales number for his/her product line
  • Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition
  • Prepares cost analyses to be used in quotations
  • Performs the actual quoting and follow-up with the customer
  • Presents new product ideas for sales growth
  • Recommends or approves budget, expenditures, and appropriations for research and development work
  • Handles customer complaints and requests, at any level from Customer Service to Purchasing to Executive Management.
  • Planning on stock inventory based on market progress & demand.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • 10+ years of previous PPE Sales 
  • Proven track record in generating new business
  • Minimum 5-year experience selling half mask (RPPE) 
  • Customer-related experience in the PPE industry, with at least a working knowledge at certification level.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree in the field of Engineering
  • Experience in the respiratory protection portfolio
  • Current knowledge of the Polish market from the End User and distribution perspective

 

Work Location

GVS Malaysia office is located in Puchong Selangor. This is a full-time position based in Puchong, Selangor. Traveling to relevant customers at all locations in Malaysia, Indonesia as well as other Southeast Asia Region is expected to be up to 65% of the time. Mileage and other travel expenses are claimable and will be reimbursed accordingly.
